Is he the new Ferdinand Piech? Is he going against the stream just for the sake of it? Did he realized that his plans to sell millions of cars without actually developing new cars were bananas?
I don’t know, but with every new, revised plan, I get less excited about it. And I’m running out of excitement for FCA.

He ain’t no Piech, my friend. Piech is back at the Throne....very carefully. But yes, it appears that Marchionne was hoping for a merger by now with someone with product on the way, and it just ain’t happening. So, yeah, better start now or end up like Mitsubishi, when by the time the Galant went out, it had gone unchanged from 2002-2012. I see he’s dropping the bad performers out, but not adding enough new vehicles.

Maybe trying to be like Piech, but without the engineering background or success?

I think he’s getting the company ready for its eventual sale. Whoever buys Chrysler really only wants Jeep, so he’s going to slowly shit everything else down. Saving the buyer the trouble of doing so.
That’s the best possible reason I can come up with for this shit plan.
